Key tasks for the role include: Dealing with retail customers on a daily basis. Developing ranges with customers. The preparation of orders and production information To organise lab dips both submission and approval To arrange fabric testing to customer requirements Liaising with other members of the team to ensure correct fit, quality and construction of garments Liaising with factories and suppliers on a daily basis Managing critical path The ideal candidate will have a high level of import merchandising experience and be looking to make that next career step. JOB TITLE: Garment Technologist REPORTING TO: Production Control Manager KEY DUTIES AND TASKS: To develop product with our factories from initial designs to bulk delivery. Produce initial design specifications in conjunction with designer using canvas and PDM in order to send to either factories directly or our Xiamen office. Ensure block and grade rules are correct & communicate with our factories and or office. Ensure all correct samples are available for product development meetings in terms of styling, fit & made in the correct fabric when available, by either chasing factories directly or liaising with office. Update specs for salesman samples and production, comments to be on made on style and measurers, communicate to factories and office. Approve bulk approval samples and local fabrics and accessories. Checking and approval of factory AQL reports. Perform weekly AQL on goods in warehouses feed information to suppliers & or office. Testing of garments and trims using in-house lab equipment, liaison with external labs. Approval of lab dips. Ensure bulk production is according to original design spec for style and measures. To be responsible for all samples and production from specific factories either directly or through office. Continue to monitor blocks are correct & update where necessary, ensuring office is made aware of changes. Ensure all samples for photography are available in colours requested. Work with and maintain critical path system. Undertake trips to Asia to visit suppliers as and when required.

Qualified to degree/HND level, with 3-4yrs plus experience with manufactures/importers or retail, children’s wear back ground a must, travel experience a bonus.
