Womenswear Buyer

Location – Manchester Region

To plan and develop product ranges that deliver against the brand profile and the customer needs. Optimise sales opportunities identified though trading and range planning and deliver a product development process that ensures the brand are first and fast with relevant emerging trends. Reporting to the senior management team, this role will work cross functionally with merchandising and the technical team to contribute to product strategy


Creates buying plans for departments while ensuring profitability by maintaining and building customer focused category lines 

Work with merchandising to develop range plans that maximise sales opportunities and lessons learnt

Constantly review social media, catwalk and competitor set to identify new product opportunities.

Develop product briefs that maximise best sellers and deliver against emerging trends and work with the technical team re samples and fit.

Manage the product critical path identifying priorities and ensuring samples are delivered against key deadlines

Weekly and monthly trading performance, identifying opportunities to drive sales growth and promotion.

·Maximise best sellers and identify underperformance and propose actions to improve sell through.

Present proposed new and repeat product buys to directors to achieve sign off

Monitor and analyse returns with technical team to identify lessons learnt and risk to profit.

Management of the buy plan ensuring product details are accurate and imagery is captured to allow product set up.

Support the creative team with product schedules

Work closely with the social media outreach team to achieve features for new product ranges and lines supported with stock

· Ensure the development of process and systems is continuous to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.


Be either an established Buyer or an experienced Assistant Buyer ready for the next challenge

A lover of fashion and have a talent for product development and a creative eye.

Passionate and driven with the ability to thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

Ability to stay calm under pressure and motivate a team through challenging periods of change.

Strong knowledge of competition’s product offer, pricing strategy and trading activity.
