Ideal candidate will have experience within a Supplier or Head Office in Import Merchandising or Buying.

Working in a small team and reporting to the Head of Sourcing
Managing the product from conception through to shipment.
Experience in costing, negotiating payment terms, buying, placing purchase orders, maintaining critical paths and ensuring goods are shipped on time to meet deliveries.
Maintaining a good supplier base and increasing profit margin for the business

Working closely alongside the design team to range plan for each season and producing desirable product at competitive prices.

Working alongside the GT team to ensure quality standards are meet.

We are looking for a confident individual who can multi task and delegate duties as and when required. Working closely with the Head of Sourcing to look at new sourcing channels and oversee critical path.

Production Controller – Mat Cover

Full Time

We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Production Controller to join our Buying team at our Head Office in Manchester.

This role is initially a 9 month contract to cover maternity leave but due to the fast moving nature of the business there could be further opportunities for a permanent role in the future.

Role overview

Working within a fast-paced and highly efficient team, you will be responsible for monitoring bulk orders and salesman samples, utilising great communication skills and a high level of accuracy to ensure our corporate calendar is adhered to.

  • Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of the suppliers capabilities and the production process
  • Issue orders to garment suppliers, following consultation with manager with regards to factory allocation, using the merchandising system or excel, ensuring all orders are input on the AS400 system and price information checked
  • Update delivery on time records and review monthly figures
  • Ensure all relevant orders are passed to the imports department in order for LC being raised
  • Manage the critical path, ensuring its updated regularly and coordination of all members of the team to ensure that all dates are met with the target to achieve 90% deliveries on time 
  • Hold weekly meetings with the rest of the team to discuss the critical path and address any issues
  • Put forward relevant suggestions of how to resolve issues when they arise, ensuring that managers are fully informed so decisions can be made
  • Barcode checking against orders and scanning on AS400 to ensure all information is correct to avoid any requirement for rectification of stock in UK, barcodes on production samples should also be checked and scanned prior to shipment of order where possible. 
  • Development and checking of new swing tickets / packaging in conjunction with QC and Marketing as required. 
  • Create and maintain the factory loading documents, ensuring suppliers are no over capacity
  • Create fabric forecasts and sign off with the manager; monitor stock levels throughout the season 
  • Ensure the Product Bible is maintained and updated by the relevant people throughout the season.
  • Communicate any delivery delays and update on the relevant systems
  • Monitor and contribute to supplier performance analysis
  • Have an awareness of other team members critical paths

Garment Technologist / QC

Manchester – c£21k

Our client is a large successful supplier of multi product to the global market.

Working closely with merchandiser/ design teams, as well as MD on the Menswear Department.   

Creating development specs at the beginning of each season from original samples or CADS

Measuring samples at first fit / PP / production sample stages

Conducting In house fit sessions. 

Sending fit comments and amended specs to the factories

Responsible for your own fit comments / pattern solutions and advice to factories to maintain a good quality/ standard. 

Advise factory of basic test requirements per style ie Base / bulk / zip tests.  

Checking & approving Care label layouts 

Action in house wash tests if necessary

Assessing bulk inspection reports from our China office

Making commercial decisions on bulk quality issues

UK warehouse checks on orders if & when needed

Product Developer

Cheshire – Salary dependant on experience

Approx 3 to 4 years experience in a similar role

To manage the daily and seasonal Product Development and Order Management requirements for the bespoke product ranges of the business. To achieve on time delivery of samples and bulk orders to the required standards for the business in the timelines set out and using the control measures in place, ensuring that all products and customer orders are developed and produced to the correct specification in line with the requirements of the business. 

Product Development: 

To work with Design Team to create size specs and planning how new garments will be made up by producing initial and graded size charts for sampling & costings. 

Identifying key issues in garment construction, creating and implementing solutions to problems and challenges. 

Conducting fit sessions in-house, balancing speed and quality; making commercial decisions with confidence; owning the fitting process and inspiring trust and confidence from colleagues and suppliers 

Manage all problem solving arising during the development process.

Working with designers and factories effectively during development of all products.

Ensuring all samples are to design and size specification, fit correctly and delivered on time.

Production Management Control: 

Co-ordinating through critical Path plans and WIP reports, for the delivery of product from initial order stage to bulk despatch from factories. 

Tracking of goods within factories to maintain lead times and quality standards. 

Checking the order packs before work commences. 

Update the Head or Sourcing and Development regularly on QC and 

Bulk order status. 

Successfully build and maintain relationships with suppliers. 

Working with factories to ensure 100% correct production and on-time delivery. 

Administration:

All administration to be of a high standard and to be constantly updated. 

On an ongoing basis, be responsible for the accuracy of all development procedures, systems and administration from nominated factories.

Import Merchandiser – Manchester

Import Merchandiser – Description

Liaising with both suppliers and customers.

Experience with liaising with the Far East is essential.

Raising purchase orders, packaging / label orders.

Maintaining the critical path.

An in depth knowledge of the critical path is essential. The merchandiser will be responsible for chasing in lab dips, print strike offs, bulk fabric and sample submissions.

Negotiating Prices

Attending customer meeting when required.

Import Merchandiser – Experience

In order to be successful, you must have at least 3 years experience as a merchandiser or similar role within an importer and used to working with excel spreadsheets and maintaining critical information databases. Excellent communication skills and number literacy are also essential within this role. 

Working in a fast paced office and liaising with internal departments and teams on a daily basis as well as buyers and factories.
