We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Production Controller to join our Buying team at our Head Office in Manchester.
This role is initially a 9 month contract to cover maternity leave but due to the fast moving nature of the business there could be further opportunities for a permanent role in the future.

Creating development specs at the beginning of each season from original samples or CADS
Measuring samples at first fit / PP / production sample stages
Conducting In house fit sessions.
Sending fit comments and amended specs to the factories
Responsible for your own fit comments / pattern solutions and advice to factories to maintain a good quality/ standard.
Advise factory of basic test requirements per style ie Base / bulk / zip tests.
Checking & approving Care label layouts
Action in house wash tests if necessary
Assessing bulk inspection reports from our China office
Making commercial decisions on bulk quality issues
UK warehouse checks on orders if & when needed

To manage the daily and seasonal Product Development and Order Management requirements for the bespoke product ranges of the business. To achieve on time delivery of samples and bulk orders to the required standards for the business in the timelines set out and using the control measures in place, ensuring that all products and customer orders are developed and produced to the correct specification in line with the requirements of the business.
To work with Design Team to create size specs and planning how new garments will be made up by producing initial and graded size charts for sampling & costings.
Identifying key issues in garment construction, creating and implementing solutions to problems and challenges.
Conducting fit sessions in-house, balancing speed and quality; making commercial decisions with confidence; owning the fitting process and inspiring trust and confidence from colleagues and suppliers
Manage all problem solving arising during the development process.
Working with designers and factories effectively during development of all products.
Ensuring all samples are to design and size specification, fit correctly and delivered on time.
Production Management Control:
Co-ordinating through critical Path plans and WIP reports, for the delivery of product from initial order stage to bulk despatch from factories.
Tracking of goods within factories to maintain lead times and quality standards.
Checking the order packs before work commences.
Update the Head or Sourcing and Development regularly on QC and
Bulk order status.
Successfully build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Working with factories to ensure 100% correct production and on-time delivery.
All administration to be of a high standard and to be constantly updated.
On an ongoing basis, be responsible for the accuracy of all development procedures, systems and administration from nominated factories.

Import Merchandiser – Description
Liaising with both suppliers and customers.
Experience with liaising with the Far East is essential.
Raising purchase orders, packaging / label orders.
Maintaining the critical path.
An in depth knowledge of the critical path is essential. The merchandiser will be responsible for chasing in lab dips, print strike offs, bulk fabric and sample submissions.
Attending customer meeting when required.
Import Merchandiser – Experience
In order to be successful, you must have at least 3 years experience as a merchandiser or similar role within an importer and used to working with excel spreadsheets and maintaining critical information databases. Excellent communication skills and number literacy are also essential within this role.
