Product Developer

Location – Soth Manchester

Salary dependant on experience

To manage the daily and seasonal Product Development and Order Management requirements for the bespoke product ranges of the business. To achieve on time delivery of samples and bulk orders to the required standards for the business in the timelines set out and using the control measures in place, ensuring that all products and customer orders are developed and produced to the correct specification in line with the requirements of the business. 

Product Development: 

  • Development of product from initial concept to SMS stage. 
  • To work with designers to establish base product specifications on Prima for factories to work from. 
  • To work with Sales on new product requirements. 
  • To work to the activity planner timeline and set critical paths 
  • Working with designers and factories effectively during development of all products. 
  • Work with factories to obtain competitive costings, in line with company margin targets. 
  • Manage all problem solving arising during the development process. 
  • Identifying key issues in garment construction, creating and implementing solutions to problems and challenges. 
  • Ensure styles, colour, silhouette and logos are commercial and within cost targets. 
  • Ensuring salesmen samples are to spec and delivered on time. 
  • Sourcing of fabrics and components and ensuring that all pass the relevant testing standards. 
  • Sourcing of new techniques and branding ideas to be passed on to the designers to ensure innovative ranges for the company to increase product value. 
  • To Present SMS and ground rules to the sales team at Go Live for each range. 
  • To communicate in writing on a weekly basis to the Production Director. 
  • The agenda to include: 
    1. Current PD status of all ranges and orders. 
    2. New development planning. 

Production Management Control: 

  • Co-ordinating through critical path plans and WIP reports for the delivery of product from initial order stage to bulk despatch from factories. 
  • Tracking of goods within factories to maintain lead times and quality standards. 
  • Checking the order packs before work commences. 
  • Update the Head or Sourcing and Development regularly on QC and bulk order status. 
  • Successfully build and maintain relationships with suppliers. 
  • Working with factories to ensure 100% correct production and on time delivery. 

Administration: 

All administration to be of a high standard and to be constantly updated. To be responsible for the accuracy of all development procedures, systems and administration from nominated factories

Key Responsibilities: Junior Designer

• Researching trends/catwalk/blogs 

• Influence product direction and sharing new ideas.

• Liaise with internal teams to source new trims and fabrications.

An established and successful Manchester based Fashion Brand/Supplier are looking for an experienced Ladies Denim Designer to join their team. Our client produce fashionable and trend-led designs for both own brand and UK Highstreet and Online retailers

The Denim Designer would be responsible for trend research, completing comp shopping, working to customer briefs, designing and developing denim multi-product ranges, liaising with factories, creating tech packs and travelling overseas. 

• Designing a range of commercial denim ranges to the client’s specifications.

• Commercially aware of current trends and themes.

• Developing the brand to ensure all products are designed in line with the customers’ direction.

• Managing the critical path and working to tight deadlines.

Garment Technologist – Womenswear Multi – product

We are looking for a Mid Level GT who’s looking for that exciting new challenge.

Salary dependant on experience – £22k- £28k approx 

Location – Manchester

Managing fit sessions across your own product areas and other product areas to ensure all styles are fitted and sealed in line with critical dates as well as meeting the high standard of technical specifications for the Brand. Understanding of Fit, Sealing, fabrics and testing.

Overseeing and checking measurements to ensure the company’s sizing policy is maintained You will provide technical guidance to the design and will work closely with factories to eliminate any issues and advise with technicalspecifications.

Garment Technologist – The Role:

  • You will be involved in sampling and approval of garments and all technical aspects associated with multi-product womenswear. 
  • To ensure each product is per company standards.
  • Manage size specifications and produce detailed tech packs 
  • Ensure samples through to production costs meet client cost expectations.
  • To handle the comments/approvals process and resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Manage communication between internal teams and the factories.

Garment Technologist – The Candidate:

  • With approx. 3 year’s experience within a garment technical/technologist position.
  • Good technical knowledge of garment construction and garment fitting as well as manufacturing methods.
  • Experienced in handling comments/approvals process and any technical/quality issues.
  • Highly competent IT skills
  • Confident communication skills, the ability to work to critical path deadlines. Ability to manage on workload and a team player.

Accessories Buyer

Location – Manchester Region

Salary – Competitive package in line with industry 

THE ROLE:

To plan and develop product ranges across all acessories including leather handbags to scarves and everyday accessories that deliver against the brand profile and the customer needs. Optimise sales opportunities identified though trading and range planning and deliver a product development process that ensures the brand are first and fast with relevant emerging trends. Reporting to the senior management team, this role will work cross functionally with merchandising and the technical team to contribute to product strategy 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates buying plans for departments while ensuring profitability by maintaining and building customer focused category lines 

Work with merchandising to develop range plans that maximise sales opportunities and lessons learnt

Constantly review social media, catwalk and competitor set to identify new product opportunities.

Strong sourcing experience

Develop product briefs that maximise best sellers and deliver against emerging trends and work with the technical team re samples and fit.

Manage the product critical path identifying priorities and ensuring samples are delivered against key deadlines

Weekly and monthly trading performance, identifying opportunities to drive sales growth and promotion.

·Maximise best sellers and identify underperformance and propose actions to improve sell through.

Present proposed new and repeat product buys to directors to achieve sign off

Monitor and analyse returns with technical team to identify lessons learnt and risk to profit.

Management of the buy plan ensuring product details are accurate and imagery is captured to allow product set up.

Support the creative team with product schedules 

Work closely with the social media outreach team to achieve features for new product ranges and lines supported with stock

· Ensure the development of process and systems is continuous to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Be either an established Buyer or an experienced Assistant Buyer ready for the next challenge
