Import Merchandiser – Entry Level

South Manchester

Salary c£23k will go higher for candidate with some experience.

Office based with 1 day hybrid after settling in period.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Junior Fashion Import Merchandiser to join our growing team in South Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate in Buying & Merchandising or someone with 6-12 months of experience in a similar role. You will play a key role in managing the critical path, working closely with accounts, and ensuring smooth product flow from factory to customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critical Path Management: Track orders from development to delivery, ensuring key deadlines are met.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with overseas factories daily, ensuring production stays on schedule.
  • Order Processing: Assist with raising purchase orders and managing order confirmations.
  • Sample Management: Oversee the approval process for lab dips, strike-offs, and production samples.
  • Stock Monitoring: Work with internal teams to track shipments, resolve delays, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Customer Support: Assist in managing client accounts, responding to queries, and providing updates.
  • Trend & Market Research: Keep up to date with fashion trends, pricing, and competitor activity.
  • Admin & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of order status, approvals, and shipment details.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Buying & Merchandising, Fashion Business, or similar (or relevant experience).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Confident communicator with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve proactively.
  • Excel proficiency and ability to handle data accurately.
  • A keen interest in fashion and the supply chain process.

Junior Garment Technologist

Manchester

Salary c£25k-£27k

Full-Time Office Based

You will play a crucial role in collaborating with the design team and factories to ensure the seamless development and production of products, while maintaining the highest quality standards. If you are a garment technologist or QC and have  a “can do” attitude and a willingness to work as part of a commercially-minded team, our client would be interested in reviewing your cv

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain product work books to communicate correct labelling, barcode, size and technical information to suppliers.
  2. To fit garment samples and update the workbooks with fit comments and make-up instructions throughout the development process.
  3. Liaise with suppliers and factories by email and video conferencing to resolve technical issues.
  4. Liaising with suppliers to ensure the certification/documentation for our products is correct and up to date.
  5. Requesting and checking barcode and Care Label submits via email from suppliers to ensure they are readable and correct.
  6. Liaising with our Licensors to ensure relevant product information is up to date.
  7. Chase samples to meet critical path and delivery deadlines.
  8. Ordering hologram stickers from our Licensors and forwarding them to suppliers for use in production.
  9. Keeping a record of the packaging weights and measures and forwarding these to customers on request.
  10. Organising/updating the Critical Path and product development files and samples.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  1. A garment technologist / QC with a technically oriented qualification.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
  3. Multi-product experience with the ability to adapt across various product areas.
  4. Knowledge of grading rules, fitting and resolving fit issues.

 

Desirable Skills:

  1. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Product Designer

Ideal candidate would come from a Product Development or Garment Technology background or Pattern Cutting Experienced.

Location: Cheshire West – Commutable from South Manchester, Merseyside, Shropshire, North Wales.

This is not a Design role.

Salary dependant on experience.

 

Job Summary

This role reports to a Principal Product Designer for a specific class of products. It is focused on executing and coordinating product design tasks as part of a wider design team. This may include developing and using specialist garment design skills

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analysis of customer requirements
  • Development of design concepts using CAD/ CAM (Gerber & AutoCAD)
  • Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and photography
  • Participation in design reviews and customer meetings
  • Preparation of design documentation
  • Support manufacturing sites through New Product Introduction activities
  • Research materials, processes, or market requirements
  • Support prototype development working closely with machinists
  • Provide customer support as required throughout the development process
  • Support testing events, on-site and off-site
  • Occasional travel to support business requirements
  • Make presentations to present design ideas and concepts.

Design Assistant

Entry level salary approx £23k

Full-time Office based

Manchester

Working alongside designers on multiple brands across several product areas.

Assisting designers on ranges for DTC websites and multiple wholesale accounts.

Keeping up to date with current trends and creating mood boards to aid with future strategies and helping to present to wider business.

Researching new emerging trends and high street/branded competitors, including comp shop trips.

Bring new and fresh ideas to the team.

Liaise and build strong relationships with suppliers and key accounts.

Assisting designers with tech packing.

Assisting with updating the critical path to ensure design communications are up to date.

Assisting team to organise lab dips and strike offs.

Provide administrative support to the design team, Including day to day autes.

Junior Streetwear Designer

Manchester City Centre

Office based role

Salary approx £24k to £29k dependant on exp.

Our Client is looking for a new multi-product apparel designer with relevant industry experience to join the team to work on a new streetwear brand.

The designer for this brand must have an in-depth knowledge in multi-product apparel design including jersey, denim ,woven and outerwear. Graphic design skills are also required as well an understanding how to apply graphics to apparel through print techniques, applications, fabric and trim development.

 

The role will be to produce and follow supplied references and inspiration with the ability to translate this into commercial collections. An in depth knowledge of streetwear culture and finger on the pulse with current trends are key within this role. You will be reporting into the Head of Design working closely with a team of designers and developers.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research new colours, trims and fabrics, producing mood boards
  • Ability and know how to create exciting seasonal collections in line with research and direction provided, from concept through to production
  • Produce sketches, technical drawings and tech packs in adobe illustrator with a high attention to detail
  • Handover tech packs to the product development team, ensuring that key design details are translated
  • Ensure key deadlines are met

 

Experience Required

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of current and past streetwear trends
  • Ideally educated to a degree level in fashion design
  • Immersed in style and culture
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
