Senior Creative / Graphic Designer

South Manchester

Salary £40k

We’re looking for someone who will help to drive our brand and content across all channels, including: our website, email marketing, brochures, social media platforms and all other communication and marketing tools. Reporting into the Art Editor, this is a hands-on role and you’ll be responsible for a broad range of design. 

You will have an excellent eye for layout, colour and typography and extremely good knowledge of Adobe suite.  If you can create something beautifully sophisticated and stylish from a simple brief and have great vision and ideas to create stand out brand for our customers, then we’d love for you to join our team. 

This is what you’ll do:

  • Produce high quality artwork for the website, customer emails, print and beyond.  
  • Design monthly brochures & prepare for print
  • Design weekly emails
  • Develop our brand guidelines
  • Design & update homepages, content spots, static pages
  • Design, format and upload category banners to the website
  • Work alongside the Art Editor & photographers to edit photoshoot images & retouch as well as planning the running order of monthly brochures
  • Many other ad hoc design requirements, both digital & print.
  • Lots of other cool stuff!

Who we’re looking for…

You will:

  • Be fluent in Adobe’s Creative Suite
  • Have previous experience in web design & building e-mails 
  • The ability to manage your own diverse workload to required deadlines in fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines/priorities simultaneously.
  • Confident working to briefs and brand guidelines with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working at a fashion brand with exposure to ecommerce
  • Proactive to new design initiatives
  • Bags of enthusiasm and passion
  • Determination to succeed in a high-pressure environment
  • You should be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.

Junior Garment Technologist

South Manchester

Womenswear Experience Essential

Salary c£25k

The Role

  • Create graded size charts from physical samples and established blocks using brand standardised gradings and templates.
  • Contribute to live model fittings across a varied product range. Attention to detail is key and ability to work at speed necessary.
  • Creation of comprehensive, clear, and logical product comments for all samples complete with supporting imagery and diagrams.
  • Understanding of garment construction to ensure the best possible methods are used within cost and to achieve a premium and durable finish.
  • To effectively manage their own product area with support of the category department technologist and manage the sealing process from first fit to production.
  • Support other members of the Technical team with product fit and quality queries and be an advisory to other functions within the business such as Buying, Design, Merch and sourcing.
  • Approval of production samples.
  • Maintaining the critical path with accuracy and consistency so visibility of the product progression is easily accessible to all functions within the business.

The Candidate

  • 2-3 Years’ experience minimum within Ladies wear – Ideally Jersey experience for this role
  • Understanding of pattern construction to support suppliers correctly and efficiently, improving fit and reducing sample quantity. 
  • Basic understanding of test reports and compliance.
  • Ability to fit on both live model and stand.
  • Collaborative and clear communicator. Ability to work with the wider product team such as Buying, Design, Merchandise, Marketing and sourcing and building successful working relationships.
  • Organised, agile and able to prioritise within a busy office environment 
  • Active contributor to product discussions, sharing of ideas and new processes to improve best practice.
  • Enthusiastic about product and constantly seeks to make improvements for the brand and customer.

Print Design Assistant

South Manchester

Salary c£20k dependant on experience

Our client a expanded and recognised womenswear brand who are currently looking to expand on its design team with an additional junior print creative.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the design and buying teams to make sure key deadlines are met in line with critical path

Conducting research, comp shop reports.

Supporting the print designer in creating commercial prints.

Create trend led and commercial print ranges which sit beautiful with the full range.

Work on all print tech packs and design sheets which are sent to factories and suppliers.

Ideal candidate will have gained some experience working in a similar role producing prints, placements and repeats. 

You will have developed excellent skills on CAD including Photoshop, Illustrator which will be reflected in your creative portfolio.

Import Merchandiser

Our client is a market leading supplier based in the North West are currently looking for an experienced Import Merchandiser! You will be part of an established team and report directly into the Merchandise Manager. You will be a highly organised individual and have great communication skills. The ideal Import Merchandiser will have previous experience in a similar role within fashion garments.

The responsibilities of the Import Merchandiser will include:

  • Liaising with the manufacturers in the Far East, sending comments, chasing up on deliveries, costings, etc.
  • Working closely with their other in-house teams including Account Managers and QA to develop desirable ranges
  • Resolving any production issues, ensuring everyone is aware of any delays
  • Approving lab dips, strike offs and submissions
  • Working with the Buyers from their customers to ensure great customer service and attending and leading meetings with them

Person Specifications:

  • Be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous supplier experience required.
  • Hard working, positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail, accurate but can work quickly when under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels along with organisational skills.

Product Developer

Our client is a successful and expanding knitwear manufacturer. We are looking for a driven candidate who is keen to learn and expand their knowledge in this sector. Working closely with management who you will be shadowing and learn and eventually to be making important decisions.

Product Developer – Knitwear Ladies Fashion

  • Working closely with the Director and other team members.
  • You will be a creative individual who will be involved in the design and development function.
  • You will have an appetite to learn about the physical knitting processes involved in garment construction.
  • Training will be given on the Shima Seiki Apex 3.4 design system.Designing virtual fabrics and samples for customer approvals.
  • Training can be provided for programming new and existing ranges using the Shima Seiki Apex 3.4 System.
  • You will also be involved in fit sessions, making fit comments and sending comments to factory on site.
  • Working closely with factory staff, you will be confidential and able to tackle difficult factory situations.
  • Use your understanding of factory capabilities to develop quality products
  • Approve all lab dips / strike off and sample approvals
  • You will manage critical path, ensuring samples and developments are on time for sign offs
  • You will process order sheets and give to the on site factory, as well as process customer booking requests.
  • Strong administration and computer skills required for this role.
  • Candidate must have an aptitude to pick up programming of knitted garments.  
  • You will act as an account manager for key fast fashion accounts such as Boohoo and PLT.
  • Negotiating prices from customer enquiries and our own developments
  • Building on existing and creating new relationship with customers.
